New Delhi: Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan has been in the news for quite a while now, thanks to his upcoming movie Dangal. The ‘PK’ star would be seen essaying the role of a 55-year-old wrestler on the silver screen.
While the movie is attracting a lot of eyeballs, Aamir recently revealed what his first reaction was after he finished reading the script of Dangal. He, reportedly, got a bit self conscious.
Aamir, 51, was attending an event held in the national capital when an entertainment portal asked about his first reaction about Dangal’s script.
To which he replied, "When I read the script of Dangal I got excited but then I thought this guy must be around 55-years-old which is closer to my actual age. Am I ready to do that on screen?"
Notably, actors in Bollywood don’t generally play their age on screen be it superstars Shah Rukh or Salman. So it was obvious on part of Aamir to have double thoughts about playing a 55-year-old on the celluloid.
However, with Dangal, the trends seem to get change. Interestingly, Salman is also playing his age in his Eid release Sultan.
Coming back to 'Dangal', Mr. Perfectionist Aamir Khan has sweat hard to perfect the role of the ageing wrestler. He underwent rigorous workout sessions and gained the weight from 68 to 93 within six months.
While for the other half of the movie, Aamir went though a drastic weight loss which received appreciation from the critics alike.
Helmed by Nitesh Tiwari, ‘Dangal’ is slated to hit the screens on December 23.
