New Delhi: One of the happiest memories etched in the minds of cricket lovers is the historic World Cup Win of 1983. Luckily for every Indian, production house Phantom Films will soon make a movie on historic win.

Media reports have it that Anurag Kashyap and Madhu Mantena owned Phantom Films has bagged the rights to bring on silver screen the victory which made touched everyone.

Reportedly, on Sunday, former cricketer Kapil Dev and a few select cricketers met at a suburban hotel in Mumbai and handed over the rights to Phantom films. It is being said that Phantom films will recreate the journey with a plethora of actors showing what led to the win.

“It was an emotional journey for all of them and emotions were running high as Srikanth burst into a song and Madan Lal, Kiri and Sandhu clicked selfies. This victory has all the ingredients of a Bollywood blockbuster and Madhu was all smiles as he contemplated the future. Gavaskar who was bringing in his 67th birthday, was missed but his former teammates cheered for the Little Master and it was Sunny days in the dark of the night,“ a guest at the bash was quoted by a leading daily.

It is being suggested that the movie will go on floors by this year end or early next year. The movie aims to tell viewers about the real heroes who did Mother India proud by winning the World Cup, India’s first.
