Rajasthan Election Results: Congress to stake claim on government in state, says Sachin Pilot
The newly elected MLAs will debate and the final decision on the chief minister will be taken by Rahul Gandhi, Pilot said.
PCC President Sachin Pilot said the Congress party will stake claim to form the government in Rajasthan Wednesday evening once decision on the new chief minister is taken by the party President Rahul Gandhi. Talking to reporters at the Pradesh Congress Committee before the Congress Legislative Party meeting, Pilot said, "We have full majority and will stake claim to form government in the evening. We will take along all non-BJP parties and elected members who are against BJP and are willing to support us.”
On being questioned over the choice of the chief minister in the state, Pilot said the party's newly elected MLAs will debate the question and the final decision will be taken by party chief Rahul Gandhi.
The chief minister would be declared in the second CLP meeting in the evening and thereafter the party leaders will meet Governor Kalyan Singh to stake claim on the government.

According to the state Election Commission, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) got 73 seats, while the Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) won 6 seats.
BSP leader Mayawati on Wednesday pledged support for the Congress. The CPI(M) got two seats, Independents won 13 and other parties got 6.
The Congress party won 99 seats and emerged as the single-largest party in Rajasthan in Tuesday's vote count.
