Rajasthan Vidhan Sabha Election Results Counting Day: As it happened
Claiming public mandate, Congress' Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday said numbers may vary, but we will get clear majority in the state.
Leaders of the Congress Party, including Sachin Pilot and Ashok Gehlot chaired a meeting in Jaipur on Tuesday after the party crossed the majority mark in the state. The Congress was leading ahead on 102 seats in the state, while the BJP was at 71. Other parties took the lead at 26 seats, trends showed.
Rajasthan Congress President Sachin Pilot on Tuesday won from Tonk, Ashok Gehlot in Sardarpura, while Vasundhara Raje retained Jhalrapatan. Talking to media earlier during the day, Pilot had said it is a matter of concern for the BJP that is facing defeat in three states. He further claimed the leaders of the BJP are making efforts to come to power through inappropriate ways.

Claiming public mandate, Congress' Ashok Gehlot on Tuesday said numbers may vary, but we will get clear majority. Meanwhile, official trends from the Election Commission showed the Congress party leading on 98 seats, the BJP at the same time was at 65. Other parties were at 16 seats, it showed.
Vasundhara Raje had departed to Banswara from Jaipur early Tuesday, to offer prayers at a temple as the counting of votes for elections in Rajasthan began at 8 am.
