Tripura election 2023 HIGHLIGHTS: Congress and Left made a rare alliance to fight the ruling BJP. TMC and aother regional parties also trying their electoral luck in the state.
Tripura Assembly election 2023 HIGHLIGHTS: Voting for 60-member assembly in Tripura came to an end with voter turnout recorded at 81 percent till 4 pm. No complaints have been received so far by the EC demanding repolling, EC officials said. The polling was held from 7 am onwards till 4 pm. A total of 3,337 polling stations were set up across the state out of which 1,100 were marked as sensitive while 28 as critical. The counting of votes will take place on March 2. A total of 28.13 lakh voters including 13.53 lakh women will decide the fate of 259 candidates. Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Gitte Kirankumar Dinakarro said that all preparations to conduct free and fair election have been completed.

Tripura registers 69.96 pc voter turnout till 3 pm

What Tripura CM said after casting his vote
After casting his vote CM and BJP's candidate from Town Bordowali, Manik Saha said It feels good and he urged all voters to cast their votes.
"We want peaceful voting. People ask me what is the challenge before me? The challenge is that the rivals (Congress-Left) that have come together in an unholy alliance should maintain peace," he added.
"I offered prayers in the morning and prayed for peaceful voting everywhere. You can see people have come out to vote. I am confident that BJP will definitely form the Government here," he said.
