Gorakhpur Rural Election Result 2022: Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) incumbent MLA Bipin Singh retained his seat in the 2022 assembly elections from the Gorakhpur (Rural) seat. He defeated Samajwadi Party’s (SP) Vijay Bahadur Yadav.

The Nishad, or the boatmen community constitute around 1.2 lakh votes in Gorakhpur (Rural) seat. The Paswan or Pasi community is the second-largest group in the seat. They have switched loyalties from time to time, while upper-caste voters have remained with the BJP and Yadav-Muslims with the SP.
In this year's poll, the All India Majlis-E-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) fielded Mohd. Islam while Congress fielded Devendra Nishad Mahara. The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) had fielded Dara Singh Nishad from the Gorakhpur (Rural) seat.
