Bypoll Results 2022: BJP wins both Rampur and Azamgarh LS seats; SAD(A) defeats AAP in Sangrur

The ruling YSR Congress has retained the Atmakuru Assembly seat, in SPS Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh, by a huge margin of 82,888 votes in the by-election held on June 23, result of which was declared on Sunday. YSRC’s Mekapati Vikram Reddy secured 1,02,241 votes against his rival G Bharat Kumar Yadav of the BJP, who managed to get only 19,353.

Bahujan Samaj Party’s Nanda Obuleshu polled 4,904 and an Independent 2,276 while 4,182 voters preferred NOTA. Ten other candidates got less than 999 votes each. A total of 1,37,289 votes out of 2,13,338 were polled in the by-poll.

Congress candidate Shilpi Neha Tirkey won the by-election to Jharkhand's Mandar seat on Sunday, defeating her nearest rival, BJP's Gangotri Kujur, by a margin of 23,517 votes, an official said. 

Shilpi Neha, the daughter of former legislator Bandhu Tirkey and also supported by the ruling JMM-led coalition, secured a total of 95,062 votes and gave credit to the people of Mandar for her success.

After BJP snatched two seats from the Samajwadi Party stronghold, PM Modi called the win historic. In a tweet, he said: "The by-poll wins in Azamgarh and Rampur are historic. It indicates wide-scale acceptance and support for the double engine Governments at the Centre and in UP. Grateful to the people for their support. I appreciate the efforts of our Party Karyakartas." 

After BJP won the Azamgarh seat, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said: "The historic victory in the Azamgarh Sadar Lok Sabha seat in the by-election is the result of the public welfare policies of the 'Double Engine BJP Government' under the leadership of the respected Prime Minister."

This victory is dedicated to all the hardworking workers of BJP. 

BJP candidate Dinesh Lal Yadav 'Nirahua' has won the Azamgarh seat in Uttar Pradesh. UP BJP President Swatantra Dev Singh and Deputy CM Keshav Prasad Maurya have congratulated Nirhua on a resounding victory.

AAP national convenor Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday called his party's win in the Rajinder Nagar Assembly bypoll the "defeat of BJP's dirty politics" and thanked the people for appreciating the work done by his government in the national capital.

BJP candidate from Azamgarh Dinesh Lal Yadav, aka Nirahua is leading by more than 13,000 votes leaving both Samajwadi Party and BSP candidates behind.

The ruling BJP won three assembly seats and the Congress bagged one in the high-stakes by-elections in Tripura on Sunday, officials said. Chief Minister Manik Saha won the bypoll to the crucial Town Bardowali seat by 6,104 votes. He secured 17,181 votes, which is 51.63 per cent of the total votes polled, as per the Election Commission.

BL Santhosh, BJP National General Secretary (Org), claimed that BJP candidate Ghanshyam Singh Lodhi has won Rampur Lok Sabha bypoll. Meanwhile, BJP candidate Dinesh Lal Yadav aka Nirahua is leading from Azamgarh Lok Sabha constituency.

Aam Aadmi Party recorded a comfortable win in Delhi's Rajinder Nagar seat, by a margin of 11,555 votes. AAP had fielded candidate Durgesh Pathak from the seat.

BJP candidate Dinesh Lal Yadav aka Nirahua is leading by more than 5,000 votes. He has garnered total of 1,16,109 votes, while SP candidate Dharmendra Yadav is trailing with 1,11,076 votes.

SP candidate Dharmendra Yadav is leading with 96,605 votes, while BJP candidate Dinesh Lal Yadav is close behind with 93,555 votes in Uttar Pradesh's Azamgarh Lok Sabha constituency.

The counting for Delhi's Rajinder Nagar by-election is underway. AAP is leading with more than 5,000 votes, while BJP and Congress are trailing behind with 12,467 and 684 votes respectively.

Simranjit Singh Mann of SAD (Amritsar) is leading in Sangrur Lok Sabha constituency with more than 1,50,000 votes, as per the Election Commission of India (ECI). 

After the sixth round of counting, Aam Aadmi Party is leading in Delhi's Rajendra Nagar assembly seat with 14,080 votes. BJP and Congress are trailing behind with 11,102 and 585 votes, respectively.

In the Rampur Lok Sabha constituency, Samajwadi Party candidate Asim Raja is leading by more than 4,000 votes, leaving BJP candidate Ghanshyam Singh Lodhi behind.

As per the Election Commission of India (ECI), Congress is leading in Tripura's Agartala assembly seat. Meanwhile, BJP is leading on three seats - Town Bardowali, Jubarajnagar and Surma.

There is a close fight between SP and BJP in Azamgarh Lok Sabha seat in UP. While earlier, BJP candidate Dinesh Lal Yadav was leading by more than 2,000 votes, he is now training close behind with 19,241 votes, while SP candidate Dharmendra Yadav is leading with 19,391 votes.

BJP candidate Dinesh Lal Yadav Nirhua is leading in the Azamgarh Lok Sabha by-election. He is ahead of BSP candidate Guddu Jamali by 220 votes. Dinesh Lal Yadav Nirhua got 13371 votes. BSP candidate Guddu Jamali got 13151 votes. SP candidate Dharmendra Yadav got 12090 votes.

The Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) is leading with 23,989 votes in Rampur Lok Sabha seat, while Samajwadi Party is close behind with 21,179 votes. Earlier, Mohd.Asim Raja of Samajwadi Party was leading from Rampur seat, but now BJP's Ghanshyam Singh Lodhi is leading by more than 2,800 votes

Counting of votes was underway for the by-elections to the four assembly seats in Tripura on Sunday amid tight security, officials said. The counting began at 8 am for the bypolls to the Agartala, Town Bardowali, Surma and Jubarajnagar seats.

Aam Aadmi Party candidate Durgesh Pathak is leading from Delhi's Rajinder Nagar assembly seat by 2200 votes. Counting of votes polled during the Rajinder Nagar assembly bye-election in Delhi began on Sunday amid tight security arrangements.

Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) chief and candidate Simranjit Singh Mann is leading from the Sangrur Lok Sabha seat, for which counting began on Sunday morning, according to initial trends. On the other hand, AAP candidate Gurmail Singh is trailing behind.

Counting of votes polled during the Rajinder Nagar assembly bye-election in Delhi began on Sunday amid tight security arrangements. Bypoll to the crucial assembly seat had taken place on June 23 with a low turnout of 43.75 per cent.

The counting of votes for Sangrur Lok Sabha by-poll will take place in Barnala today. A counting centre has been set up amid tight security at the SD College of Pharmacy. 

Counting of votes for the by-elections to the Rampur and Azamgarh Lok Sabha constituencies in Uttar Pradesh got underway at 8 am Sunday amid tight security, a senior official said. The two constituencies voted on June 23, with Azamgarh recording a turnout of 49.43 per cent and Rampur 41.39 per cent.

The Azamgarh seat saw a triangular contest among BJP's Dinesh Lal Yadav 'Nirhua', a Bhojpuri actor-singer, SP's Dharmendra Yadav and BSP's Shah Alam, also known as Guddu Jamali.

Lok Sabha by-elections were held in Rampur and Azamgarh constituencies in Uttar Pradesh and Sangrur seat in Punjab. 

The fate of Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha among others will be decided today. Saha, who is contesting from Town Bardowali, needs to win this election to continue as the chief minister. 

The by poll results of 3 Lok Sabha and 7 assembly seats will be announced today. The counting began at 8 am.
