BJP will come to power in Uttar Pradesh with a full majority. This election is summed up to 80 versus 20, where 80% seats will go to BJP and the remaining  20% seats will be shared between SP, BSP and Congress, said UP CM Yogi Adityanath during a roadshow in Sarojini Nagar, Lucknow.

Soon after polling for the third phase of Assembly elections kicked off in Uttar Pradesh, Samajwadi Party alleged discrepancies in the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) stating that the Voter Verifiable Paper Audit Trail (VVPAT) issued a slip of the BJP as the voter cast his vote to the former.

The party asked the Election Commission to take cognisance of the matter and ensure "smooth and fair voting".

In the third phase of elections, 627 candidates are in the fray in 59 assembly constituencies, out of which 97 are women candidates.

Over 2.16 crore voters will exercise their franchise at 25,794 polling places and 15,557 polling stations in the third phase of Assembly elections.

Polling for the third phase of Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections will be held in 59 seats spread across 16 districts in the state on Sunday. Voting will start at 7 am today and will continue till 6 pm.
