Amid speculation of a hung Assembly in Manipur, the Congress has dispatched three observers to the state to oversee the post-poll scenario.

In 2017, the party even after being the single-largest party, had failed to form the government in Manipur.

The party has assigned T.S. Singhdeo, senior minister in the Chhattisgarh government, Vincent Pala and Mukul Wasnik.

The Congress has asked all its observers and party in-charges to keep tab on all its newly elected MLAs and inform the central leadership about the same on the counting day on March 10. This is being done to keep its flock together, said sources.

Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) national spokesperson Sudhindra Bhadoria on Tuesday rejected the exit polls which predicted the victory of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections, saying that the Mayawati led party will emerge victorious with a big force.

"People of Uttar Pradesh have given their verdict and votes are locked in the EVMs. The way crowd gathered in the rallies of the BSP chief Mayawati we believe that the party will emerge as a big force," Bhadoria told ANI.

Exit polls conducted by various organisations have unanimously predicted that the BJP will again form the government in the state while the Samajwadi Party will come second.

With just two days to go for the Goa Assembly polls counting, Chief Minister Pramod Sawant has said the central BJP leadership is already in talks with the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP) to seek its support, if the saffron outfit falls short of a few numbers to form government.

Elections to the 40-member Goa Assembly were held on February 14 and the results will be declared on March 10.

Talking to PTI, Sawant said the BJP is optimistic that it will get more than 22 seats (as against the majority mark of 21), but if it falls short of the numbers, "the party has also kept open the option of seeking the support of independents and the MGP".
The central BJP leadership is in talks with the MGP for a post-poll alliance, the CM said.

Goa Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on Monday expressed confidence that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will come back with a full majority in the state.

CM Sawant said, "BJP is coming back with a full majority. BJP will get 18-22 seats in Goa and will form the government. I strongly believe people will once again choose the double engine government."

He added that the Goa BJP government's priority is to complete the infrastructure projects of the double engine government. "We will fulfil the 'Aatmanirbhar Bharat Swayampurna Goa' under this mission", said Sawant.

Goa went for assembly polls on February 14. The counting of votes will take place on March 10.

Aam Aadmi Party's chief ministerial candidate for Punjab, Bhagwant Mann on Monday exuded confidence that AAP will bag 80 plus seats in the Punjab Assembly elections.

His remarks came after paying an inspection visit to a strong room where the EVM machines are stored.

Mann said, "People's mandate is locked in those EVM machines. It will decide Punjab's future for the next 5 years. Results will come on 10 March, we will accept the people's mandate."

He thanked the workers of the Aam Aadmi Party who have guarded the EVMs day and night since the election.

With exit polls predicting a clear win for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab, State Chief Minister and Congress leader Charanjit Singh Channi urged people to wait till March 10, the day when Assembly election results will be declared. Channi arrived in the national capital today to hold discussions on various issues with Union Home Minister Amit Shah.

Addressing the reporters after the meeting, Channi said, "Only boxes (EVMs) will tell what has to happen. All of you, please wait till March 10."

Exit polls on Monday predicted a clear victory for the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) in Punjab with the scale of the party's victory varying across various surveys. Several surveys predicted Arvind Kejriwal-led AAP, which is in power in Delhi, getting a landslide victory.

The Congress will take out an all-woman march in Lucknow on the occasion of International Women's Day on Tuesday.

Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) president Ajay Kumar Lallu said, "Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra will lead the march in which all-women office bearers of the party and others will take part."

He said, "The march will start from 1090 crossing and end at Uda Devi statue near National Botanical Garden."

The party has claimed that around one lakh women from all the districts will be seen on the roads of Lucknow.

Following exit polls predicting Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) clear majority in Punjab Assembly polls, party leader Raghav Chadha said the party is going to be the national and natural replacement of Congress.

"Exit poll results tell us that the people of Punjab have overwhelmingly voted for change. People rejected traditional political parties. AAP is now a national and fastest-growing political party. AAP is going to be national and natural replacement of Congress," AAP leader Raghav Chadha told ANI.

With most of the exit polls predicting the return of the Bharatiya Janata Party to power in Uttar Pradesh, Union Minister and Apna Dal (Sonelal) chief Anupriya Patel on Monday said that the National Democratic Alliance government would come back to power with a "thumping majority" in the state.

Speaking to ANI, Patel said she was not surprised by the predictions.

"I am not surprised. We have been saying this since day one that the NDA alliance will return to power once again. The exit polls are predicting in the same direction," she said.

The Congress party on Monday said that it will send observers to all states where assembly elections were held. The observers are expected to reach their respective destinations on Tuesday.

Senior leader P Chidambaram and Karnataka Congress unit chief DK Shivakumar will go to Goa while Ajay Maken and Punjab in-charge Harish Chaudhary will go Punjab.

According to Exit Polls, the Congress party is losing power in Punjab and giving a tough fight in Goa and Uttarakhand. Whereas, the BJP will have a landslide victory in Uttar Pradesh and Manipur.

Soon after the exit polls predicted an edge to the Bharatiya Janata Party in the state Assembly elections, Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami on Monday exuded confidence in forming the government once again and said the party would win more seats in the final results than predicted in the exit polls.

Speaking to ANI, Dhami said, "All exit polls are showing that BJP will form govt with the majority. Some are showing 45 seats, some 47 seats but I believe there will be more seats when the final result is out."

The Chief Minister further laid his faith in the people of the state and said that his party will form the government once again.
"People of Uttarakhand have shown faith in us and will form the government," he said.

In the 403-member Uttar Pradesh assembly, the majority mark is 202 and the exit polls predicted BJP getting a comfortable majority with its allies.
