Yeshvanthapura Constituency Bypoll Result: BJP registers victory with 27,699 votes against JDS

Yeshvanthapura Constituency Bypoll Result: BJP candidate S. T. Somashekar registered victory in the seat with a margin of 27,699 votes against Janata Dal (Secular) JDS's T.N. Javarayi Gowda. Earlier, the trends showed Gowda leading.
Yeshvanthapura is Karnataka Legislative Assembly constituency falling in Bengaluru Urban District of Karnataka. There are a total of 4,65,886 voters in this assembly of which 2,41,452 are males, 2,24,394 are females, and 40 are of the third gender. In 2018 elections of Karnataka Assembly, Yeshvanthapura was won by Indian National Congress candidate ST Somashekhar. BJP won this seat in the 2008 Assembly Elections with a margin of 1,082 votes.
Bye-elections for 15 of the 17 vacant seats in the Karnataka Assembly were held on December 5, 2019 and the votes were counted on December 8, 2019.
The constituencies which have gone for bypolls are: Athani, Kagwad, Gokak, Yellapur, Hirekerur, Ranibennur, Vijayanagara, Chikkaballapur, KR Pura, Yeshvanthapura, Mahalakshmi Layout, Shivaji Nagar, Hosakote, Krishnarajapete, and Hunasuru.
