Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday threw a new challenge to Prime Minister Narendra Modi and asked if the former was "scared" of debating with him on corruption.
Gandhi's "open book" challege to PM Modi listed three topics for a political debate.
“Dear PM, scared of debating me on corruption? I can make it easier for you. Let’s go open book, so you can prepare: 1. RAFALE+Anil Ambani, 2. Nirav Modi, 3. Amit Shah+Demonetisation,” he tweeted with a hashtag #Scared2Debate.
Gandhi has been repeatedly daring PM Modi for a face-to-face debate with him on a range of issues including national security, especially the Rafale fighter jets, asserting that when it happens the truth will come out in the open.
He had earlier challenged the prime minister to debate with him on the issues of national security, corruption and foreign policy soon after releasing the Congress manifesto for the Lok Sabha polls.
Taking on to social media, Gandhi shared a 25-second video clip of Modi giving interview to a Hindi news channel. In the clip, Modi is seen asking the interviewer if she believed the verdict on Rafale deal given by the Supreme Court, the Comptroller and Auditor General, the French President and the French government.
"You can run Mr Modi, but you can't hide. Your karma is about to catch up with you. The country can hear it in your voice. Truth is a powerful thing. I challenge you to a debate on corruption," he said.
The government has however denied any wrongdoing on any of the allegations.
