Bihar Assembly Election 2020 Result Live: The National Democratic Alliance (NDA) comprising BJP, JDU, HAM and VIP succeeded in reaching the halfway mark — 122 seats — emerging victorious in the Bihar Assembly Election 2020, defeating the Mahagathbandhan comprising the RJD, Congress, CPI and others. The NDA finally won the game in what could be termed as counting day thriller as it saw seat tally in complete doldrums with initially showing the Grand Alliance in the lead, later the NDA for several hours, but the nailbiter finally ended with NDA surpassing the majority mark, together winning 125 seats, and is all set to form government in the state again. Meanwhile, Tejashwi's led RJD put up a neck-and-neck fight, emerging as the single largest party. A stellar performance by the BJP enabled the ruling NDA to attain a simple majority notwithstanding a sharp fall in the tally of the JD(U) headed by Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, according to final results announced early Wednesday. The saffron party, which had contested 110 seats, won 74 and while the JD(U) which fought 115, won only 43 seats. With four seats each won by junior allies HAM and VIP, the NDA secured 125 seats in its kitty, three more than the number required for a simple majority. The opposition Grand Alliance fell way short of the magic mark. The total number of seats won by all its five constituents stood at 110. Nonetheless, the RJD emerged as the single largest party in the assembly bagging 75 seats. | FULL COVERAGE
