Elections 2022: Amarinder Singh meets BJP's Punjab in-charge Gajendra Shekhawat in Delhi
Five poll-bound states are Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Manipur, Goa and Punjab. Elections in these states will be held in February-March next year.
Former Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh on Friday met BJP's state in-charge Gajendra Shekhawat. If sources are to be believed, both leaders also discussed seat-sharing for the upcoming assembly election in Punjab. Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Amit Shah on Friday heaped praise on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister for Covid-19 management in the state. Addressing a joint rally with Nishad Party at Ramabai Ambedkar ground in Lucknow, Shah said that 'it is the result of COVID management by CM Yogi Adityanath that Uttar Pradesh is now out of corona fear and moving forward on the path of development'. He also invoked Lord Ram in his address, saying the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya will soon be constructed. He said that while the previous Samajwadi Party and BSP governments protected goons and mafia, CM Adityanath "wiped out" them from the state. Shah also exuded confidence that the BJP will retain power in the state and take forward the development agenda. "Only Modi Ji is moving forward with the mantra of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas'. BJP is going to form government again in Uttar Pradesh and will fulfill rest of the agendas of Nishad community," he said. Today's 'Sarkar Banao, Adhikar Pao' rally in Lucknow was organised by the BJP and its ally Nishad Party. Uttar Pradesh and four more states (Uttarakhand, Punjab, Goa and Manipur) are slated to go to polls early next year.
