Hours after reports claimed that senior Congress leader Digvijaya Singh and Jyotiraditya Scindia had a verbal spat in the presence of party presence Rahul Gandhi during a meeting in New Delhi, the former Madhya Pradesh CM denied there being any altercation. Digvijaya Singh took to twitter to rubbish all such reports and claimed that Congress was determined to defeat the BJP in Madhya Pradesh.
"It is being wrongly reported in press that I and Jyotiraditya Scindhia ji had any arguement and Rahul ji had to intervene. All of us in MP Congress are one and determined to defeat the corrupt BJP Govt in MP (sic)," Digvijaya Singh said in his tweet.
Earlier, it was reported that Singh and Scindia had a heated argument during a meeting called to decided the finals list of candidates contesting in Madhya Pradesh assembly election slated for November 28. Both the leader wanted their own supporters to be included in the list.
The matter escalated to such a level that Rahul Gandhi had to intervene. An angry Rahul Gandhi reportedly set up a three-member committee to resolve the matter.
The special committee includes veteran Congress leaders Ashok Gehlot, Veerappa Moily and Ahmed Patel.
