Chunav Manch: India's worst industrial disaster happened in Congress rule, says BJP's Vishvas Sarang
Sarang recounting the achievements of MP government, said the Shivraj Singh government had brought the state into light from darkness.
Holding the Congress directly responsible for the 1984 Bhopal Gas Tragedy, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Vishvas Sarang on Saturday said that it was unfortunate that the opposition party let Warren Anderson, the prime accused of the disaster, slip away from India. Speaking at Chunav Manch, IndiaTV's election conclave in Bhopal, Sarang said Madhya Pradesh made rapid development during Shivraj Singh Chouhan regime.
Sarang recounting the achievements of Madhya Pradesh government, said the Shivraj Singh government had brought the state into light from darkness. The state now got round the clock electricity, he added.
Heaping praise on the state government for creating conducive environment for the industries, Sarang said industries were eager to invest in the state, creating employment opportunities for the youth.
Questioning the facts on development presented by Sarang, Congress leader Abhay Dubey, who shared the stage with Sarang, said the official figures suggest that women and children are not safe in the state.
Taking a swipe at the state government, Dubey said that the state in terms of per capita income stands at 29th position out of 33 states in the country.
