Bharatiya Janata Party councilor Avtar Singh, who once used to sell tea, was elected unopposed as the new mayor of North Delhi on Monday. Delhi BJP chief Manoj Tiwari had nominated Singh for the election, following which he was elected unopposed in the election held at general house meeting of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation.
According to a senior Delhi BJP leader, Singh used his hard work to reach to the post of mayor.
