The BJP on Tuesday said its campaign 'Main Bhi Chowkidar' has turned into "a mass movement" with over one crore people taking a pledge to be a 'watchman' and said Prime Minister Narendra Modi will interact with them through video conference on March 31.

BJP leader and Union Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad told the media that while the movement was becoming popular among the common man, those who were out on bail and facing various legal action were troubled by it.

"Over one crore people have joined the campaign and it is now a people's movement. While it is becoming popular among the people, there are some who are opposing it.

"Those who are out on bail with their families or have something to hide are opposing the movement. Some people are saying 'Chowkidar' is for the rich. These are the same people who looted about 12 lakh crore from poor people."

He said Modi will interact with those who took the pledge across the country via video conference on March 31.

Ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, Modi last week tweeted a video with hashtag '#MainBhiChowkidar' (I am also a watchman) and called all those fighting corruption, dirt and social evils a 'watchman'.

BJP leaders have added 'Chowkidar' before their names on Twitter.
