The Election Commission of India (ECI) has warned senior Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leader Maneka Gandhi to not repeat mouthing the remark she had made against voters of the Muslim community while addressing a rally in Uttar Pradesh's Sultanpur.
Maneka Gandhi is contesting on a BJP ticket from Sultanpur.
Maneka Gandhi was, on April 12, caught on camera threatening a few members of the Muslim community to vote for her in the upcoming Lok Sabha polls or face consequences.
The consequences would be the Muslims not receiving any help from her in the unforeseeable future.
In the short address, Maneka Gandhi also said she would anyway win the Lok Sabha election from Sultanpur "with or without" Muslim votes.
But if they don't vote for her, 'mann khatta ho jaayega', she said.

To this end, the poll watchdog, on Monday, said it strongly condemned the statement made by her and asked her to not repeat 'such misconduct'.
Maneka Gandhi's three-minute speech had gone viral on the social media and led to outrage for its blatant communal content.
