Despite defeat in Assembly elections in three Hindi heartland states - Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rajasthan - Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) chief Amit Shah is confidence of his party's win in 2019 Lok Sabha election. Amit Shah made light of the the opposition 'mahagathbandhan' (grand
alliance), calling it an illusion and expressed confidence that the BJP will retain power after the 2019 Lok Sabha polls.
The election results in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh were definitely not favourable for BJP, but it is not right to link them with the 2019 Lok Sabha polls, Amit Shah said.
State polls can't be linked to Lok Sabha poll results as both elections are fought on separate issues, the BJP president stressed.
