Modi's rallies in Kolkata, Siliguri on April 3
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address two rallies - one at north Bengal's Siliguri and other at Kolkata's Brigade Parade Ground -- on April 3 ahead of the Lok Sabha polls, a party leader said on Sunday.
"His first public meeting will be in Siliguri at 1 p.m. and then he will attend a rally at Brigade Parade Ground at 3 p.m.," BJP leader Mukul Roy told reporters.

AAP releases first list of candidates in UP
The Aam Aadmi Party has released its first list of candidates in Uttar Pradesh for the Lok Sabha elections. Yogesh Dahiya will fight from the Saharanpur parliamentary seat, Shweta Sharma from Gautam Buddh Nagar and Satish Chandra Sharma from Aligarh.
The party is likely to contest the polls from 25 Lok Sabha seats in the state. For rest of the seats, the process to select candidates is in the final stage, said Rajya Sabha MP and AAP state in-charge Sanjay Singh.

Trinamool, BJP try to capture party offices in Bengal
With West Bengal's ruling Trinamool Congress and emerging opposition BJP intensifying their fight ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, capturing and recapturing each other's party offices have become a regular occurrence.
Supporters of the BJP's Coochbehar candidate Nisith Pramanik, who recently switched to the saffron party from the Trinamool, have allegedly recaptured a "Trinamool-acquired party office" at Bamanhat market in Coochbehar district.
"My association with Trinamool was a sin. The BJP is like the holy Ganges. Our supporters clean the party office with water from the holy river," he said after taking over the office.

A Delhi BJP delegation led by party leader Vijender Gupta Saturday met the chief electoral officer and sought action against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal over his alleged "misuse of Twitter" and violation of the model code of conduct (MCC). In its complaint to the CEO, the BJP alleged that Kejriwal, through social media platforms, was trying to incite religious frenzy and communal tensions. Launching his party's Lok Sabha poll campaign in West Bengal, Congress president Rahul Gandhi Saturday trained his guns on both Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, charging them with failing to fulfil their promises. Gandhi's rally in the North Malda constituency, once a Congress bastion, assumed significance as the party is facing an uphill task to hold onto its base due to large-scale defections of party leaders, including its sitting MP Mausam Benazir Noor, to the Trinamool Congress. Congress appoints observers in Delhi for Lok Sabha polls
The Delhi unit of the Congress has appointed observers for all 25 assembly constituencies falling under the North Delhi Municipal Corporation ahead of the Lok Sabha elections. Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee working president Rajesh Lilothia said the observers will go to booths and have dialogue with the voters and tell them about the programmes and policies of the Congress party. In a meeting held with the 25 observers, Lilothia said that in the 94 wards of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation, protests will be staged to highlight the failures and non-performance of the elected representatives of both the BJP and the AAP. -

Congress announces Assembly poll candidates in Arunachal Pradesh, Sikkim
The Congress on Saturday announced 53 candidates for the Arunachal Pradesh Assembly election and 32 nominees for state polls in Sikkim. Former Arunachal Pradesh chief minister Nabam Tuki has been fielded from the Sagalee (ST) Assembly seat. Significantly, the Congress has also fielded Tuki from the Arunachal West Lok Sabha seat. Arunachal Pradesh will have simultaneous assembly and Lok Sabha polls. Polls for 60 assembly seats and two parliamentary seats will be held on April 11. Assembly polls in Sikkim will be held on April 11 simultaneously with the Lok Sabha elections. The Sikkim Legislative Assembly has 32 seats. -
