The Election Commission on Monday sought a "factual report" from the Ghaziabad District Magistrate on Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath calling the Army "Modiji ki sena" (Narendra Modi's army). The District Magistrate would have to submit the report to the Chief Electoral Officer in Lucknow by Tuesday noon, an Election Commission official said, reported IANS.

BSP chief Mayawati and Jana Sena Party founder Pawan Kalyan, who formed an alliance for the Assembly polls in Andhra Pradesh, would jointly address election meetings at Vijayawada, Tirupati and Hyderabad, the Jana Sena said, reported PTI. They will campaign for the success of the nominees of Jana Sena, BSP and Left parties in Andhra Pradesh, it said in a release.Mayawati would reach Visakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday and address a joint media conference with Kalyan the next day, it said.

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) President Amit Shah will flag off the party's campaign for the 2019 general elections in Karnataka's 28 Lok Sabha constituencies on Tuesday in this tech hub, a party official said on Monday.

"Shah will launch the party's poll campaign with road shows and a public meeting on Tuesday evening in the high-profile Bangalore South constituency in the presence of our state leaders and hundreds of cadres," BJP spokesman G. Madhusudhan told IANS.

The Congress will release its manifesto Tuesday for the Lok Sabha polls here. The manifesto document will be released by Congress president Rahul Gandhi and all top party leaders, including former prime minister Manmohan Singh, will be present at the party's Akbar Road headquarters, reported PTI.
