Uttar Pradesh unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Wednesday said sidelined leader Shivpal Yadav split from the Samajwadi Party (SP) because of internal party struggle and quarrel.

Saffron party asserted that a family-run political party breaks in the same manner.

"Whenever there is a party of a single family, it eventually disintegrates in this manner. All political parties in the country run by a family have witnessed such disintegration," news agency PTI quoted UP BJP media coordinator Rakesh Tripathi as saying.
