BJP candidate threatens TMC workers, says 'Will drag you out of your houses and thrash you like dogs'

"I will call a thousand people from Uttar Pradesh to beat you up," said Bharati Ghosh, a Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Ghatal, West Bengal.

A Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) candidate from Ghatal, West Bengal and an ex-IPS officer Bharati Ghosh, on Saturday, threatened the Trinamool Congress (TMC) workers and said she will drag them out of their houses and thrash them like dogs.

"You are threatening people to not cast their votes. I will drag you out of your houses and thrash you like dogs. I will call a thousand people from Uttar Pradesh to beat you up," said Bharati Ghosh, reported ANI.

Her comments have come just two days before the fifth phase (of Lok Sabha election 2019) which will take place on Monday.

To constitute the 17th Lok Sabha, the general election is currently being held in seven phases from 11 April to 19 May 2019. On 23 May, the counting of votes will be conducted and on the same day the results will be declared.

With the general election, Legislative Assembly elections in the states of Andhra Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh, Odisha and Sikkim are being held simultaneously.
