Tohana Result: Major upset as BJP Haryana Chief Subhash Barala loses by 52,302 votes

Tohana Result: In one of the biggest upsets of Haryana Assembly Elections 2019, Devender Singh Babli has defeated BJP candidate and state party chief Subhash Barala by 53,301 votes.

In one of the upsets of the Haryana Assembly Election 2019, BJP State Chief and candidate from Tohana, Subhash Barala has lost to Devender Singh Babli by 52,302 votes. JJP candidate Devendra Singh Babli who secured 1,00,621 votes managed to put daylight between himself and others. 

Barala, who resigned from the post of BJP Haryana Chief as soon as the trends started indicating a disastrous individual loss in Tohana, managed only 48,340 votes.

BJP, which is still developing into the single largest party as counting draws to an end, is still far from forming a government on its own. 

As things stand, BJP is leading on 37 out of the 90 Haryana Assembly seats while Congress is leading on 32. 

In 2014, Tohana saw a tough fight between BJP's Subhash Barala who secured  49,462 votes (28.58%) and INLD's Nishan Singh who fell just short with 42,474 votes (24.59%).

 

Tohana saw a voter turnout of 85.22% in 2014.
