Vijay Rupani will continue as the chief minister of Gujarat. The decision was taken during the meeting of BJP legislature party in Gandhinagar today.

Nitin Patel will also continue as the deputy chief minister of the state.

" There was only one proposal which called for making Vijay Rupani the chief minister and Nitin Patel the deputy chief minister. After that, Vijay Rupani was elected as the leader of the legislature party while Nitin Patel was elected the deputy leader," party observer Arun Jaitley said.

The swearing in ceremony is likely to be held on Christmas Day and the most likely venue will be the Sabarmati riverfront.
