With the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in mood to leave any stone in the upcoming Gujarat Assembly elections, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Monday address four back-to-back rallies in different parts of the poll-bound state where the first phase of elections will be held on December 9.

PM Modi will start his Gujarat election campaign with a rally in Bhuj on 27 November, followed by public meetings in Jasdan town of Rajkot, Dhari in Amreli and Kamrej in Surat district on the same day.

BJP workers and supporters are all geared up to welcome their top leader, who is making his third visit to Kutch after assuming the highest office.

According to reports, over 100 cultural performers accompanied by Kutchi folk artistes, nearly 200 retired soldiers, farmers, women from cooperative societies, religious leaders, traders and youth have gathered at Lalan College ground in Bhuj. 

As many as 1 lakh people from all the six constituencies in the district are expected to attend the PM Narendra Modi’s rally on Monday. The town has been converted into a fortress for Modi’s security. The Prime Minister will land at Bhuj airport at about 9 am and will head straight to Ashapura Temple at Mata No Madh.

In 2012, the BJP had won five out of six seats from the Kutch district with a vote share of over 45 per cent. 

At the Bhuj rally, PM Modi will be accompanied by Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, along with a group of senior party leaders.

BJP’s star campaigners include union ministers Rajnath Singh, Nitin Gadkari, Arun Jaitley and Sushma Swaraj, chief ministers of BJP-ruled states—Yogi Adityanath and Vasundhara Raje—as well as several Gujarat BJP leaders. 

The Gujarat elections are being held in two phases, on 9 December and 14 December, and results will be declared on 18 December. While 89 seats of Saurashtra and South Gujarat region will go to polls in the first phase, the election in the remaining 93 constituencies in central and northern regions will be held in the second phase.
