Students in Kashmir get relief as winter sets in, authorities take big decision on school timings | DETAILS

With the onset of winter in the higher ranges of Jammu and Kashmir, the school education authorities of Kashmir have issued orders to make the schooling for students more convenient.

With the onset of winter in the higher ranges of Jammu and Kashmir, the school education authorities of Kashmir have issued orders to make the schooling for students more convenient by changing the class timings starting Wednesday (November 1).

From today, classes in government and private schools of Kashmir will start one hour late from the present time.

Order issued

Directorate of School Education Kashmir (DSEK) has issued an order for this. DSEK said in its order that the timings of schools falling under the municipal limits of Srinagar district will be from 10 am to 3 pm. While for schools outside the municipal limits of Srinagar and belonging to other districts and areas of Kashmir province, the new timing has been fixed from 10.30 am to 3.30 pm.

Order must be strictly followed

All concerned institutions will have to strictly follow the orders and given instructions and any deviation in this regard will be taken very seriously, the order from the Director of School Education in Kashmir said. At the same time, class work for government and private schools in Srinagar will start daily from 9 am to 3 pm.

Intermittent rain and snow in Kashmir

Kashmir valley is witnessing cold mornings, evenings and foggy weather these days. The ski resort of Gulmarg recorded its first snowfall of the season on its higher peaks on September 24. Since then, there has been intermittent rain and snowfall on the higher peaks in October, affecting the weather in the Himalayan valley.
