The Board of High School and Intermediate Education Uttar Pradesh (UP Board) today announced a slew of measures to curb cheating and unfair practices during final examinations in the state.
The board announced that it will set up a special control room to deal with cheating related complaints. Centres will get designated magistrates, back and front CCTV cameras with voice recorders and GPS. The board has made provisions digitise the examination process with serial numbers for answer sheets to curb cheating and sheet swapping as reported in previous years.
The exams will begins at 8:00 am instead of 7:30 am in the morning slot and will continue till 11:15 am. In the evening slot, the exams will begin as per earlier timings of 2:00 pm and 05:15 pm.
High school and intermediate exams will be conducted simultaneously. High school exams will be held between February 7 to February 28, while inter exams will be held up to March 2. Around 58 lakh students are expected to sit for the exams this year. There is a drop of around 8 lakh students giving exams due to strict measures to check cheating.
