IIT Madras ranked as the top-ranked higher education institute in the country followed by Indian Institute of Science (Bengaluru), IIT-Bombay, IIT-Delhi, and IIT Kanpur.

This year, A total of 10,885 institutions applied for the NIRF 2024.

This year, three more categories have been introduced. These are:-

•  Open Universities
• Skill Universities
• State Funded Govt Universities

The press conference has been started. Soon, the education minister Dharmendra Pradhan will announce the rankings.

NIRF 2024 rankings soon

Individuals can participate in the NIRF rankings press conference at webcast portal, webcast.gov.in.

The announcement of NIRF Ranking 2024 will be soon made by the Ministry of Education (MoE). As per the schedule, the rankings will be announced at 3 pm at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi at 3 pm. Once the rankings are out, individuals can check the complete list on the official website of NIRF, nirfindia.org.

The Ministry of Education (MoE) will announce the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2024 today, August 12, at 3 pm. Every year, the NIRF Rankings ranks and assesses higher education institutions in India based on many factors. The Union Minister of Education, Dharmendra Pradhan, will present the results of this year's rankings at a conference held at Bharat Mandapam. Shortly after the press conference, the NIRF Rankings 2024 will be accessible at nirfindia.org.

Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan will announce the India Rankings 2024 for Higher Education institutes and award the top ranking institutes today, August 12. Minister of State for Education, Dr. Sukanta Majumdar, will also be present at the event, which will be held at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

As per the statement available on the official website, India Rankings 2024 will be released on 12th August 2024 at 3 pm. The announcement of the NIRF ranking 2024 will be made by the Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan during a press conference.

In 2023, IIT Madras continued its dominance as the best higher education institution in the country as it secured the top position for the fifth consecutive year.

A comprehensive assessment process is used by the National Institutional Ranking Framework to evaluate institutions.  Teaching and learning, professional practice and research, graduation results,  inclusiveness and outreach, and perception are among the evaluation factors. 

To show the importance of each criterion, different weights are assigned to it. Thirty per cent of the weight is allocated to research and professional practice, as well as teaching, learning, and resources. Outreach, inclusion, and perception each account for 10% of the total, with graduation results accounting for 20%.

In 2023, for the Medical category, AIIMS Delhi secured the top post in the list, the second was PGIMER, Chandigarh and the third was Christian Medical College.

Education Minister, Dharmendra Pradhan will announce NIRF rankings today, August 12. 

A total of 5,543 higher education institutions participated in the NIRF last year.

NIRF rankings 2024 parameters widely cover the following categories

• Teaching, learning and resources, 
• Research and professional practices, 
• Graduation outcomes 
• Outreach and inclusivity
• Perception

Last year, the NIRF rankings were announced on June 5. 

In 2023, IIT Madras held the number one spot on the list. Since the inception of the NIRF rankings in 2016, IIT Madras has maintained its first position in the India rankings 2024. 

No, NIRF Ranking 2024 will be released at 3 pm today. The list will be available on the official website of NIRF after the announcement of the Education Ministry.

NIRF rankings 2024 will be announced for 13 different categories which include overall universities, colleges, research institutions, engineering, management, pharmacy, medical, dental, law, architecture and planning, agriculture and allied sectors and innovation.
