JEE Main, NEET UG and THESE exams may be postponed due to clash with general elections 2024 schedule| Details

The National Testing Agency is expected to reschedule the examination dates for JEE Main, NEET UG, and CUET UG 2024 due to general elections. However, there has been no official confirmation regarding the alteration in the exam timetable. Check details here.

CUET UG 2024 Exam Schedule: The 18th Lok Sabha Elections are set to occur in seven phases, starting from April 19 to June 1, with vote counting slated for June 4.

In light of this electoral process, several institutes, including the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC), the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), and the National Testing Agency, have adjusted their exam schedules to align with the Lok Sabha Elections. The UPSC has postponed the civil services (prelims) exam to June 16 from its original date of May 26, due to the upcoming elections.

Likewise, the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has modified the exam dates for Intermediate and final exams. The Intermediate Group 1 exams are rescheduled to May 3, 5, and 9, while Group 2 will be held on May 11, 15, and 17 instead of May 7, 9, 11, and 13, respectively. The Final exam for Group 1 will take place on May 2, 4, and 8, and Group 2 will be conducted on May 10, 14, and 16 instead of May 6, 8, 10, and 12.

In other updates, the National Testing Agency (NTA) has revised the dates for the Study Webs of Active Learning for Young Aspiring Minds (SWAYAM) January 2024 semester exam. Originally scheduled for May 25, the exam will now be held on May 27 due to the general elections. The Testing Agency (NTA) has also adjusted the exam schedule of the SHRESHTA 2024 Exam due to elections. As per the official notice, the SHRESHTA 2024 Exam (Residential Education for Students in High Schools in Targeted Areas) scheduled on 24th May 2024 will now be conducted on 11th May 2024.

JEE Main, NEET UG and CUET UG likely to be postponed

There were many speculations and rumours about the change of exam schedule of the Common University Entrance Test for Undergraduates (CUET UG) 2024 due to the Lok Sabha elections. Recently, UGC chairman, Jagadesh Kumar Mamidala announced that the CUET UG 2024 exam will be conducted as announced earlier, and there will be no change because of the Lok Sabha election schedule. The CUET UG 2024 date sheet will be released after the registration process. The testing agency has scheduled the undergraduate admission entrance exam tentatively from May 15 to 31.

On the other side, The National Testing Agency (NTA) has scheduled Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2024 session 2 from April 4 to 15 and National Eligibility cum Entrance Test UG (NEET-UG) for May 5. There are many speculations and rumours about the alteration of the exam schedule.

According to a report published by Indian Express, there will be no change in the exam schedule of the JEE Main 2024 session 2 exams and NEET UG 2024. However, there is still no confirmation about the change of schedule for these exams. Candidates are advised to keep checking on the official website for the latest updates.

Common University Entrance Test, earlier known as Central Universities Common Entrance Test or CUET is an all-India exam that is conducted by the  National Testing Agency for admission to various undergraduate courses in central universities of India. The scores are also accepted by many other state universities and deemed universities in India.

National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test (Undergraduate) or NEET (UG), formerly the All India Pre-Medical Test (AIPMT), is an all-India pre-medical entrance test.
