The National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) has started the registration process for the Secondary (class 10) and Senior Secondary (class 12) NIOS public examinations. The eligible candidates can fill out the application form on the official website, nios.ac.in, for the upcoming October-November 2024 public examinations. The last date for the candidates to fill out the application without a late fee is July 6, as per the schedule. The candidates will have to pay a non-refundable application fee of Rs 300 per subject to register for the NIOS 2024 Oct-Nov public examination. Additionally, Rs 150 will have to be paid for subjects carrying practicals.
NIOS Class 10 and 12: Important dates
Without late fee:
- For learners enrolled in Stream-I, Block-II for Oct 2024 Examinations- June 7 to July 6, 2024
- For eligible learners for examinations except the learners registered for April 2024 examination- June 7 to July 6, 2024
With late fee of Rs 150 per subject:
- For all eligible learners as mentioned at Sl. no. 1 and 2 above- July 7 to July 16, 2024
- With a consolidated late fee of Rs 1,600 per learner:
- For all eligible learners as mentioned at Sl. no. 1 and 2 above- July 17 to July 26, 2024
NIOS class 10 and 12 Registration Fee
Students wanting to enroll in the secondary and senior secondary courses, under Stream 1 Block 2 of 2023, with their first public exams scheduled for Oct-Nov 2024 of NIOS will be required to pay the examination fee and the students who are enrolled in Stream 2 for the same courses will be exempted from paying the fee for examination. In the official notice, NIOS stated - “Learners of Senior Secondary courses who passed their class 10th after October 2022 (in April 2023, Oct 2023 or April 2024) shall pay the exam fee to appear in the public exams of Senior Secondary courses in October/November 2024 for not more than 4 subjects (including already passed subjects (if any)).”

- Recent Passport size colour Photograph
- Signature of learner (preferably in Black Ink).
- Valid Identity Proof (like Aadhaar Number, Aadhaar Enrolment number, Passport number, Ration Card number, Bank Account number or any other valid government Identity Card etc.)
- Valid proof of Date of Birth in case of the Secondary Course (Birth Certificate or Passport or Transfer Certificate / School Leaving Certificate or Aadhaar Card with date of birth printed on it in the dd/mm/yyyy format)
- Valid proof of Residence
- Class 8th Marksheet or Self Certificate (in case of the secondary course). Class 10th Marksheet/Certificate (in case of Senior

- Self attested true copy of Social Category/Caste Certificate (in case the learner belongs to SC/ST/OBC social category).
- Ex-serviceman Certificate (in case the learner is an Ex-Serviceman)
- Disability Certificate (in case the learner is having any kind of disability)
- Original scanned copy of Failed
- Marksheet issued by the Parent Board of the School Education in case learner registers in NIOS for Stream- 2/3/4.
