The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has announced the date and time when results of the MBBS entrance examination will be released. More than one lakh students appeared for the examination this year. According to reports, the results of AIIMS MBBS will be announced on June 18.

Students can check their results at the official website of AIIMS, aiimsexams(.)org. The institute will release the counselling schedule soon after the declaration of results.

The ranks of the candidates will be determined on the basis of the marks scored by them in the exam. In case of two students securing same marks, the tie will be resolved in the following manner:

# The candidate with higher percentile in Biology will be given the higher ranking. 

# In case two students have same percentile in Biology, candidate with higher percentile in Chemistry will be given higher ranking. 

# In case of a tie in both biology and chemistry, the candidate with higher percentile in Physics will be given higher ranking. 

# In case, two candidates have the same percentile in Biology, Chemistry, and Physics,  the candidate older by age will be ranked higher. 

This year, the All India Institute of Medical Sciences conducted the examinations in two shifts, morning and afternoon in online mode on May 26 and May 27. The AIIMS MBBS 2018 entrance exam was held for 807 seats across the country. There are 100 seats available for Indian Nationals and 7 seats for foreign nationals in AIIMS Delhi, while the other 6 AIIMS institutes in Bhopal, Bhubaneshwar, Jodhpur, Patna, Raipur and Rishikesh have 100 seats each. The two new AIIMS institutes in Nagpur and Guntur are allotted 50 seats each.

Last year, a total of 4905 candidates qualified in this examination. 1828 female and 2077 male candidates were eligible for the counselling session for admission in AIIMS. The cut-off percentage last year for the general category was 50 per cent, while for OBC it was 45 per cent and for SC/ST it was 40 per cent. The percentile for the general category last year was 99.0014978, for OBC it was 97.4205359 and for SC/ST it was 94.1220114.  Nishita Purohit from Gujarat had emerged as the All India Topper in the AIIMS MBBS exam with 100 percentile last year.
