Haryana: Youtuber Zorawar Singh Kalsi and his friends were arrested by Gurugram Police for performing dangerous stunt for social media reel in Gurugram near Golf Course DLF underpass. They were trying to recreate a scene from a movie by throwing fake-currency notes from a moving car.
The development has come after a video went viral where a man was throwing currency notes from his running car in Gurugram.
Fake currency notes used by Youtuber Zorawar Singh Kalsi for making social media reel
According to DLF Gurugram ACP, Vikas Kaushik, "...Police came to know about an incident through a video on social media where two men tried to re-create a scene from a movie by throwing currency notes from a car on Golf course road. Police filed a case under various sections of IPC. Main accused identified."
Gurugram police also arrested one Lucky Kamboj, who was blowing currency notes.
According to reports, On March 2, a reel was posted on Zorawar Singh Kalsi's Instagram account in which he and his colleague were recreating a scene from Bollywood actor Shahid Kapoor's recent movie 'Farzi'.
The reel was viewed by millions of his followers. As it went viral, the question arised that who gave the permission to shoot this video in an high profile area without permission while risking the lives of people.
The DLF Gurugram police, taking cognizance of it, registered a case under the Motor Vehicle Act for dangerous driving, endangering the lives of others.
The police said that the person driving the car has been identified, but the other person and the number of people who shot from the other vehicle are yet to be identified.
The police will also probe whether the notes that were blown up from the vehicle were really fake, from where they (accused) accessed them.
Gurugram Police have also appealed to the people through India TV not to shoot such videos without permission as it can put others life in danger.
When India TV reached out to Zorawar Singh Kalsi, he said that it was just an act, fake notes were blown up and now he has deleted the video. Zorawar Singh added that he will put his version through a video message.
At present, the police is trying to arrest Zorawar and find out his intentions behind the video. Although the sections in the FIR against Zorawar are bailable, but police said that it is necessary to teach a lesson to such people who do not care about others lives while shooting such videos.
