UPSC Prelim Exam 2024: In view of the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) examination on June 16, the Delhi Metro train services on Phase-III sections will be available from 6 am on exam day (Sunday), said Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Friday.
It is pertinent to mention that the metro train services on Phase-III sections usually begin at 8 am on Sundays. However, it will begin at 6 am on June 16, said Anuj Dayal, the DMRC's principal executive director (corporate communication).
"Metro train services on Phase-III sections which usually begin at 8:00 AM on Sundays will begin at 6:00 AM this Sunday i.e, 16th June, 2024. This arrangement is being made to facilitate the candidates appearing for Civil Services (Prelim) Examination held by UPSC this Sunday," the DMRC said in a statement.
Phase-III sections are:
- Dilshad Garden-Shaheed Sthal
- Noida City Centre-Noida Electronic City
- Mundka-Brigadier Hoshiar Singh
- Badarpur Border-Raja Nahar Singh (Ballabhgarh)
- Majlis Park-Shiv Vihar
- Janakpuri West-Botanical Garden
- Dhansa Bus Stand-Dwarka
Dayal said that metro services on the other sections will run as per their normal schedule from 6 am onwards.
Namo Bharat trains to be available from 6 am
On Thursday, the National Capital Regional Transport Corporation (NCRTC) said that the Namo Bharat train services will be available from 6 am to 10 pm on Sunday in view of the upcoming UPSC examination. Normally, on Sundays, train services are available from 8 am to 10 pm.
The NCRTC has taken the decision to start the services from 6 am instead of 8 am in order to facilitate the candidates appearing for the examination at centres located around the Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) corridor.
Currently, the Namo Bharat trains operate on the RRTS corridor from Sahibabad to Modi Nagar North in Ghaziabad. There are various educational institutions around the operating section of Namo Bharat, where different competitive examinations are frequently held.
UPSC Prelim Exam
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2024 on June 16, 2024, across the country at various exam centres.
The exam will consist of two objective-type (multiple choice questions) examinations - General Studies Paper I and General Studies Paper II, and carry a maximum of 400 marks in the subjects. Both the exams will be of two hours duration. The General Studies Paper II will be a qualifying paper, in which students will be required to achieve 33 per cent marks. Paper I will include questions from Current Affairs, Science, Economics, Politics, History, and Geography, and Paper II will include Quantitative Aptitude, Logical Reasoning, and Reading Comprehension.
