Delhi's Rouse Avenue court on Tuesday dismissed the second regular bail application of AAP leader Manish Sisodia in the Delhi Excise policy case. His bail was opposed by both the central probe agencies CBI and ED.
Earlier, the lower court, High Court and Supreme Court had refused to grant bail to Sisodia.
Opposing the bail plea, the investigating agency said, "Sisodia is the kingpin of the scam and hence he should not be granted bail. If he is granted bail, he may tamper with the evidence and influence witnesses."
Sisodia to approach Delhi HC
Sisodia will approach the high court against a city court's order, refusing bail to him in the alleged excise policy scam case. In a statement, AAP said that Sisodia's bail plea was rejected by the Rouse Avenue Court and it would approach high court.
Special judge Kaveri Baweja denied the relief, saying the stage is not right to grant bail to Sisodia. Sisodia, who also served as excise minister in the Delhi government, was arrested by the CBI on February 26 last year in connection with the case. He was later arrested by the ED in a money-laundering case linked to the now-scrapped policy in March 2023.
