New Delhi: A kidnapping incident surfaced from Delhi's Laxmi Nagar when two kids who were sitting in a parked car outside Heera sweets were kidnapped. The incident took place when their parents went momentarily to purchase some sweets and kept the car's engine for a brief.
Upon returning from the sweet shop, kids father noticed that his vehicle along with the kids was missing. This happened around 11:40 pm Friday.
An information regarding kidnapping of a 11-year-old girl and 3-year-old boy was received by the Delhi Police.
The kidnapper called the parents and asked for a ransom of Rs 50 lakh. He was negotiating the ransom amount on the phone with victim’s mother.
On getting the information, rescue teams were activated at once. SHO Shakarpur along with victim's mother, SHO Laxmi Nagar with the Victim's father along with two more teams of PS Shakarpur, started chasing the car on the basis of technical surveillance.
A team of Special Staff, ANS and ACP/Madhu Vihar were immediately pushed to action to search the kidnappers.
After around three hours and neck-to-neck chase by around 20 police vehicles, the cops found the car along with the kids after it was abandoned by the kidnappers. Both the children were recovered safe and sound and reunited with their parents. A few valuables, including jewellery and mobile phones, were also found intact, as the kidnappers did not get time to take anything after discovering that they were being chased by the police from all sides.
The other district police teams, especially the outer North district, and RPF had also swung immensely in this operation while their prompt actions were appreciated.
