Multiple Delhi hospitals get bomb threat, police probe on

Few days ago, several schools received bomb threat email in a single day alarming Delhi. The threats later turned out to be hoax.

Multiple hospitals in Delhi receive bomb threats mail, days after several schools received similar threats through emails. The threat mails were received at Burari Hospital, Sanjay Gandhi Hospital in Mangolpuri and Dada Dev Hospital in the Dabri area of Delhi.

The police reached the spot and carried out searches at all the three hospitals. According to DCP Delhi North, an email was received at the hospital regarding a bomb threat. Local Police and Bomb Disposal Team reached the spot and checked for any explosives. He said that nothing suspicious was found yet. 

Meanwhile, IGI airport in Delhi also got similar mail threatening presence of bomb. The Delhi Police reahed the site and started search operation.

Of late the cases of bomb threats have beocme frequent. Earlier on May 1, over 100 schools of Delhi and Noida received similar threat emails. As the precautionary measure, all the schools were closed and students were evacuated. The Delhi Police conducted a thorough search at each school and found out that the threats were hoax.  Later an investigation was started related to the matter. 

According to top sources of the Delhi Police, the Special Cell investigated the mail through CBI with the help of Interpol to identify the person who sent the mail. The mail was sent using — mail.ru — i.e. from a Russian domain with its server in Moscow. A case was registered by the Special Cell of the Delhi Police under the relevant legal provisions for offences like conspiracy and threat and a dedicated team was formed to conduct the investigation, an official had said.

Within a week, similar threat mails were received by six schools in Ahmedabad. The local police along with bomb squad reached the schools' premises and conducted searches. The threat in Ahmedabad also turned out to be hoax. The threats in Ahmedabad came just a day prior to the polling for Lok Sabha, heightening security concerns in the city.
