HUDA City Centre station to be renamed Millennium City Centre not Gurugram City Centre

The station that falls in Haryana's Gurugram comes under the yellow line. The DMRA has announced that Huda City Centre is renamed Millennium City Centre and not Gurugram City Centre.

Hours after renaming HUDA City Centre station as Gurugram City Centre, the DMRC has announced that the station will be rechristened Millenium City Centre. The station that falls in Haryana's Gurugram comes under the yellow line. A decision has been taken to rename the station as Millenium City Centre, a senior official said. 

Earlier today in a tweet, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said: "A decision has been taken to rename the HUDA City Centre Metro station on Yellow Line as Gurugram City Centre. Accordingly, the process of changing the name in all official documents, signage, announcements etc. has been initiated and shall be changed gradually." Sources said a request to rename the station had come from both the Centre and the Haryana government.

Hours later, the DMRC said in another tweet, "In partial modification of the earlier announcement regarding the renaming of the HUDA City Centre Metro station on Yellow Line, it has now been decided by competent authorities to rename the station as Millennium City Centre".

Earlier, two sealed bottles of alcohol per person is permitted to be carried inside Delhi Metro, according to revised norms, officials said on Friday (June 30). However, drinking of alcohol inside metro premises is still strictly prohibited, they said.

Carrying of alcohol was banned in the Delhi Metro till recently except on the Airport Express Line, the DMRC said in a statement.
