Delhi Police constable crushed to death in road rage incident in Nangloi area | VIDEO

The Delhi Police said that it has initiated a probe into the crime and launched a search operation to arrest the accused who killed the constable.

A Delhi Police constable was killed in a road rage in the wee hours of Sunday. He was crushed to death after he tried to stop a car. Earlier, it was reported that the cop was killed by a liquor mafia, later the police clarified that it has no connection to the liquor mafai. 

Constable Sandeep was crushed by the car which he tried to stop in the Nangloi area of ​​Delhi.

"A constable was killed as he was crushed by a car in a road rage incident in the Nagaloi area last night after he asked the car driver to move the car. The constable was allegedly dragged for 10 meters and hit another car. The police have seized the car while the accused is absconding," the Delhi Police said in a statement.

"Constable Sandeep, Batch 2018, Belt No. 1341/OD, PIS 28181941, was going towards railways road from the Nangloi Police Station during duty hours, dressed in civilian clothes in view of increased burglary in the area. He saw that a WagonR was being driven recklessly, and Sandeep pointed out to the driver not to drive harshly. Suddenly, the vehicle that was overtaking sped up and hit him from behind, dragging him for about 10 meters before eventually hitting another vehicle," the police said in a statement.

Sandeep was immediately taken to Sonia Hospital and later shifted to Balaji Hospital in Paschim Vihar, it said, adding he was declared dead there.

A case under 103 BNS is registered and an investigation is taken up, the statement said. Two persons who are absconding from vehicle are being searched, it added.

Senior police officers rushed to the spot and launched an operation to arrest the culprit.

30-year-old Sandeep, 2018 batch CT, is survived by mother, wife and 5-year-old son.
