Delhi: Four of same family dead after fire breaks out at building in Prem Nagar

The fire incident in Prem Nagar created chaos in the area but the police and fire brigade teams reached there timely and controlled the situation. The police initiated a probe into the matter.

Four people of the same family died in a fire incident in Prem Nagar, Delhi on Tuesday. A building in Prem Nagar caught fire in the wee hours. 

The fire broke out at around 3.30 am. Two fire brigade vehicles reached the spot and doused the fire.

Fire brigade officials rescued four people who were admitted to the hospital where doctors declared them dead.

The fire probably sparked from the inverter and caught by the sofa on the first floor of the building after which the fire engulfed the entire floor, said the sources.

The deceased have been identified as Heera Singh (48), Neetu Singh (46), Robin (22) and Lakshya (21).

The reason for the fire is yet to be ascertained and a probe is underway into the matter, said the officials.

In another fire incident, a woman and her two daughters were charred to death and three people injured after fire broke out at an under-construction house in Ghaziabad.
 
The blaze, reported at Defence Colony in the city's Teela Mor police station area on Sunday, was caused by a leakage in the LPG cylinder when the woman was cooking.
 
Nathulal, the house owner, was getting five rooms constructed in the building with the help of one Mukesh who was residing with his family there, Siddharth Gautam, ACP, Shalimar Garden, said.
 
When the fire broke out, Nathulal along with some local people doused it and rushed the injured to the GTB hospital here, Gautam said.
