Delhi: One dead after massive fire erupts at ITO building, employees safely evacuated | VIDEO

Tragedy struck the Income Tax CR Building in the ITO area of central Delhi as a fire broke out on Tuesday, resulting in the loss of one official's life, according to the police. Officials from the Delhi Fire Services swiftly responded to the emergency call, dispatching a total of 21 fire tenders to combat the blaze. Seven individuals, comprising five men and two women, were successfully rescued from the building. However, one person sustained minor injuries and was promptly transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Explosion triggers residential building fire in south Delhi

In a separate incident on the same day, a fire erupted at a residential building in south Delhi following an explosion involving two gas cylinders. Fortunately, no casualties were reported in this incident.

Prompt response by fire services

The Delhi Fire Services promptly responded to a distress call received at 5:16 am, reporting a fire in a residential building located in the Shahpur Jat area. Three fire tenders were dispatched to the scene to extinguish the flames.

Chemical factory blast in Bawana area leaves several injured

Just two days earlier, on Sunday, May 12, a chemical factory in Delhi's Bawana area experienced a blast followed by a massive fire. The incident resulted in injuries to at least seven individuals, with three of them reported to be in critical condition.

Intensive firefighting efforts

Upon receiving reports of the factory fire, the Delhi Fire Services swiftly deployed twenty fire tenders to combat the blaze. Nine individuals were rescued from the premises and promptly transported to a nearby hospital for medical treatment.

Ongoing investigation

DFS Chief Atul Garg provided insights into the ongoing rescue operation, stating, "Seven people—five men and two women—were rescued safely... The process of dousing flames completely is still going on." He further emphasized the collaborative effort between firefighters and local law enforcement to investigate the cause of the fire and ensure the safety of the affected area.
