Arvind Kejriwal press conference: Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, who was granted bail by the Supreme Court, on Saturday thanked the people of Delhi for his release and vowed to fight against the 'dictatorship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.' Kejriwal reiterated that his party is the only option to fight corruption and BJP and said that his party is an idea and not a political outfit and hence it will keep on growing.

"I am coming straight from jail to you. It feels great to be with you after 50 days. I just went to Hanuman temple with my wife and CM Bhagwant Mann. Bajrang Bali's blessings are on our party and us. It is by his grace that I am among you today..," Kejriwal said and added "...Our Aam Aadmi Party is a small party, present in two states. But the Prime Minister left no stone unturned to crush our party and sent four leaders to jail simultaneously. If four top leaders of big parties go to jail, the party ends. The Prime Minister wants to crush AAP...PM Modi himself believes that AAP is the one that will give future to the country..."

A day after getting released from Tihar jail Kejriwal reached the historic temple to pay his obeisance. Kejriwal was accompanied by AAP leaders including Delhi Health Minister Saurabh Bharadwaj.

Why did he not resign as Delhi CM

Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal said, "When I was in jail, some people raised this issue that why doesn't Arvind Kejriwal resign from the post of Delhi CM? I have not come to become CM or PM…In the last 75 years, elections have been held in so many states, AAP government was formed in Delhi with the most historic majority, no other political party could win in any state with such a huge margin. They knew could never defeat AAP, so a conspiracy was hatched to send Kejriwal to jail and the government would fall but we did not fall into their trap. Hemant Soren also should not have resigned… I am fighting against this dictatorship from jail..."

What will happen on June 4

Kejriwal said "...Their (NDA) government is not being formed after June 4…Their seats are decreasing everywhere in Haryana, Rajasthan, Bihar, UP, Delhi, Karnataka, West Bengal and Jharkhand. It is also being speculated that they are getting 220-230 seats. INDIA government is being formed at the centre.

On LG

AAP will be a part of it, we will give Delhi the status of complete statehood. LG of Delhi will belong to the people of Delhi, the current LG has just come from Gujarat..."

On I.N.D.I.A bloc leaders

Kejriwal said, "They will send opposition leaders to jail and will finish (Nipta denge) the politics of BJP leaders…Our ministers, Hemant Soren, ministers of Mamata Banerjee's party are in jail…If they win again, then Mamata Banerjee, MK Stalin, Tejashwi Yadav, Pinarayi Vijayan, Uddhav Thackeray and other opposition leaders will all be in jail...Politics of LK Advani, Murli Manohar Joshi, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Vasundhara Raje, ML Khattar, Raman Singh have been finished. The next is Yogi Adityanath. If they win this election, they will change the CM of Uttar Pradesh within 2 months.

Released on bail

The Supreme Court on Friday gave Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal interim bail till June 1 for campaigning in the ongoing Lok Sabha elections. A bench of Justices Sanjiv Khanna and Dipankar Datta said Kejriwal, arrested in a money laundering case linked to the alleged excise policy scam, will have to surrender and go back to jail on June 2.

The bench refused the request of senior advocate Abhishek Singhvi, appearing for Kejriwal, that the interim bail be granted till June 5 — a day after the votes are counted on June 4.

The apex court is hearing Kejriwal's plea challenging Delhi High Court’s last month verdict upholding his arrest in the case. The matter relates to alleged corruption and money laundering in the formulation and execution of the Delhi government's now scrapped excise policy for 2021-22.
