Rajasthan teen sets herself on fire over alleged sexual harassment, dies

The police officer said that the girl's father had filed a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act a month ago against a youth.

A 17-year-old girl set herself on fire, on Saturday, after she was allegedly sexually harassed by a man in Rajasthan's Nagaur, the police said.

"We received a complaint from a man that his daughter set herself on fire after sprinkling kerosene on herself," said, Jitendra Singh Charan, Makrana SHO.

The police officer said that the girl's father had filed a case under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act a month ago against a youth.
According to police, a case has been filed and a post-mortem is carried out.

Further investigations are underway.
