Delhi Police registers FIR against Jamia's anti-CAA protestors for Dec 15 violence

The police on Monday evening filed an FIR against unknown people on charges of assaulting a public servant and damaging public property over the episode of violence on Dec 15. The police further announced a prize money of Rs 1 lakh for any information about three suspects alleged to be involved in the violence.

On Jan 29, Delhi Police had released the pictures of 70 suspects wanted in connection with the December 15 violence on the Jamia Millia Islamia campus here, IANS reported.

The SIT of Delhi Police Crime Branch had zeroed in on the suspects on the basis of CCTV footage of the violence indulged in by them under the garb of protests against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act, police added.

Police have since visited the houses and other suspected hideouts of the accused, who have gone underground, a police statement had said, as per IANS.
