Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated developmental projects worth more than Rs 26,000 crore in Jagdalpur on Tuesday. Speaking at the event he said, "To strengthen the resolve of strengthening every state, district and village, foundation stone laying ceremony and inauguration of projects worth nearly Rs 27,000 crore is being held today," says PM Modi in Chhattisgarh's Jagdalpur."
He further said, "Physical, digital and social infrastructure should be in accordance with the future needs to ensure a developed India. This is the reason why our government has, in the last nine years, increased the expenditure on infrastructure to Rs 10 lakh core." Speaking on the rail budget the PM said, "The rail budget of Chhattisgarh has been increased by nearly 20 times as compared to 2014."
PM Modi attacks Congress at rally in Bastar
Speaking at a rally in Chhattisgarh's Bastar, he said, "Congress has neglected Bastar for years. They never thought about the people's interests. BJP has done several development works here. You all know that as compared to Congress, the BJP gives five times more budget for the tribal people here."
PM Modi further said, "Congress govt in Chhattisgarh has degraded the condition of the state. Everyone is fed up with this govt. Corruption and crime are at their peak in the state. Sometimes it seems like Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh are competing with each other over the crime rates. Here development is seen either on posters or in the lockers of the leaders of the Congress govt. Chhattisgarh is demanding change."
PM offers prayers at the Danteshwari Temple
Earlier, he offered prayers at the Danteshwari Temple in Bastar after reaching poll-bound Chhattisgarh on Tuesday. He is also scheduled to dedicate to the nation the NMDC Steel Ltd's steel plant at Nagarnar in the Bastar district.
The plant is a greenfield project that will produce high-quality steel at a cost of more than 23,800 crore. The plant at Nagarnar will provide employment opportunities to thousands of people, in the plant as well as in ancillary and downstream industries.

In line with the prime minister's vision of improving rail infrastructure all across the country, he will also launch multiple rail projects in the state, an official statement said. He will inaugurate a new rail line between Antagarh and Taroki and a rail line doubling project between Jagdalpur and Dantewara. He will lay the foundation stone of the Boridand-Surajpur rail line doubling project and redevelopment of Jagdalpur station, it said, adding that several other projects will also be started.
Meanwhile, security has been tightened in the city ahead of the PM's visit. Speaking to news agency ANI, Inspector General of Bastar, P Sundarraj, said, "On the security arrangements that have been made in view of PM Modi's event in Chhattisgarh's Bastar."
