1. In the year 1631, Mumtaz Mahal, wife of Mughal emperor Shah Jahan, died while giving birth to the 14th child. Taj Mahal was built in her memory. 

2. In the year 1885, Statue Of Liberty arrived in the New York Harbor on the French ship, named Isere. 

3. In the year 1944, Iceland was declared independent and became a republic.

4. In the year 1961, India's first jet aircraft, HAL HF-24 Marut took its first flight. It was a fighter-bomber aircraft. 

5. In the year 1987, the last of the Dusky Seaside Sparrow died and became extinct.
