In what we can term as one of the biggest box office clashes of 2018 so far, Satyameva Jayate and Gold set the cash registers ringing on Independence Day. Cashing on the patriotism fervour, the two movies were perfect for August 15 release. While Akshay Kumar starrer Gold reminded India of its historic win in 1948 Olympics, John Abraham's Satyameva Jayate was all about uprooting corruption from the system.
The opening day box office collection of both the movies are out and there are different versions available on Twitter. While one of the trade analysts, Ramesh Bala claims that Gold minted Rs 27 crores and Satyameva Jayate earned Rs 18 crore, Taran Adarsh has a different take. According to his tweet, John Abraham and Manoj Bajpayee's film raked in Rs 20.25 crore and Reema Kagti's directorial minted Rs 25 crore.
Now, Shame On Bhushan has started trending on Twitter in which fans are accusing T-Series honcho and producer Bhushan Kumar of rigging the box office collection. Netizens are sharing memes on Twitter and passing filthy remarks on Satyameva Jayate team.

Trade analyst Girish Johar has also posted a series of comments hinting at the manipulation of numbers. ''With every new release ... new calculators and new formulas are brought out to calculate BO .. whom are we fooling ... public... only upto a level.... but for SURE ...OURSELVES - The Fraternity,'' he tweeted.
On a related note, Milap Milan Zaveri's Satyameva Jayate stars John Abraham, Manoj Bajpai and Aisha Sharma in lead roles. The vigilante action film is about a common man who takes pledge to teach a lesson to every corrupt policeman. On the other hand, Reema Kagti's Gold has Akshay Kumar, Mouni Roy, Vineet Kumar Singh and Amit Sadh in pivotal roles. The movie is about India's historic victory in Hockey at 1948 London Olympics.
