After Jinder Mahal, the current World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) champion, here comes another proud moment for Indian wrestling. Kavita Devi, a former powerlifter has become the first Indian woman to sign a contract with WWE. The news was confirmed by Jinder himself on Twitter. ''Sending a huge congratulations to @KavitaDeviWWE and also @WWE for making history today. Kavita is the first Indian woman to sign with WWE,'' he tweeted. He recently visited New Delhi and personally invited Sachin Tendulkar and his son for WWE live event which is scheduled to take place in December.

Kavita who is also an ex-police officer is the first woman to compete in WWE ring. She was a featured participant in Mae Young Classic – WWE's first all-woman competition in which she contested with New Zealand-based Dakota Kai.
Kavita is all set to begin her training from this January at WWE Performance Center in Orlando, Florida where she will hone her skills. Meanwhile, in another major development, Shadia Bseiso from Jordan has become the first Arab woman to sign contract with WWE.
