Who doesn't love pizza? The yeasted flatbread with cheese, sauce and variety of toppings is undoubtedly one of the most popular foods across the globe. In India, pizza is synonym for Dominos and Pizza Hut. The two fast food giants are spreading their market in India to tap the growing demand of pizza.
Pizza Hut, a division of US-based Yum! Brands Inc, is betting big on India as it opened its 9,000th restaurant in Mumbai on November 27. On this occasion, the company delivered free pizzas to 9000 customers with the help of iconic dabbawalas of Mumbai.
Pizza Hut has already lined up plans to double its outlets in India to over 700 over the next five years. Presently, Yum! Brands has over 350 stores of Pizza Hut spread over 100 cities in India and are operated by its two franchise partners - Devyani International and Sapphire Foods India.Besides Pizza Hut, Yum! Brands Inc operates two other brands here - KFC and Taco Bell, and competes with Domino's Pizza and Dunkin' Donuts operated by Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd.
