New Delhi: ISIS leader Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi released a video last weekend where he urged Muslims from all over the world to join the organisation. Listening to his offer, many Muslims from across the globe took to Twitter to deny it in a hilarious way.
In a first of its kind video in seven months, the Islamic state leader urged believers to 'urgently' join the group, calling for an uprising in Saudi Arabia, as he pledged future attacks in Israel and the West. He called on Saudi citizens to "rise up against the apostate tyrants, and avenge your people in Syria, Iraq, and Yemen".
Post his 24 minute long video, prominent human rights activist, Iyad El-Baghdadi tweeted translations of a number of the IS chief's messages. Little did he know that he would be caught in frenzy, with people misunderstanding him as an ISIS follower and refusing the offer to join ISIS in a hilarious way.
Twitterati, responded on El-Baghdadi's tweet, “ISIS leaders: We urgently call upon every Muslim to join the fight, especially those in the land of the two shrines (Saudi Arabia), rise”, with comical tweets.
While one did not want to risk dying before the next Star Wars release, one asserted that he read Quran and it did not teach him that.
Here are a few tweets:
The activist speaking about the incident told Mic in an email, “Perhaps the funniest/weirdest response was when ISIS supporters (I mean real ISIS supporters) were actually offended that I was mistaken for their great leader."
